About character: Ashton is in a place right between squib and wizard. He doesn't have enough magic to even own a wand, but he can do the occasional "magic trick" such as setting something on fire or flinging something across the room if he's really upset. He completely adores his little brother Alex and there's no one in the world he's closer to. He holds Alex and his friends in high regards but hates his parents for how accepting they are and for how they try to control his and his brother's lives. He spends most of his time at friends' houses, partying and drinking, and the underground music scene is his place. During the summer his brother often accompanies him and together they wreak havoc. He's also something of a playboy, but he has a surprisingly deep side to him that, for the most part, only Alex sees. He is very protective to the point of being obnoxious and, aside from those he already knows, doesn't really let people get close.

She soon met her husband, Edgar, and had a whirlwind romance that ended in a proposal three months later. She never told her husband about her witch status and, when she finally did, he accepted it much better than she thought he would. They had two children, Ashton and Alex, who she absolutely adored - up until the point where they became "bad apples". She was disappointed in Alex's sexuality and even more disappointed when Ashton threw his education away in favor of his friends and partying, and especially when he didn't even receive a letter. She's a very timid housewife who supports her husband in everything and lets him make all the decisions, though in private she can get very heated if she's passionate.

About Character: Edgar grew up in an overworked household run by his single mother, who was disowned after she became pregnant before marriage. He was raised Catholic but due to his mother's busy schedule it wasn't imposed and he is now a "Sunday Catholic" only. His life was very normal. He strived hard to be good and do well in school to take some stress off his mother. He played rugby throughout school and during his college days developed the habit of betting on games whenever he had the chance - something he's not completely kicked but that his wife knows nothing about. He was shocked when his wife told him she was a witch, something he wasn't happy about. However, he loved her and accepted her anyways. He had two sons that he's days away from disowning. One turned out to be gay, a fact he's endlessly ashamed of, and the other is practically a gangster, something he's equally displeased with. It's only his wife's gentle words which dissuade him from kicking either of them out and being rid of them for good. He's a very stubborn man, well set in his ways, who has a very traditional view of the world.
