Dark Side's Revenge
Voldermort, or Tom Riddle had a son a few years before his first encounter with Harry, named Donovan Riddle. Donovan was the result of an affair had with Narcissa Malfoy. Once the baby was born October 12, 1977. Coming out with dark hair, it was obvious it was not a child of Lucius. Lucius aiming to be the best in his Lord's eyes, swore to never speak a word of it.
Narcissa and the inner circle (Severus Snape, Lucius Malfoy, Alexander Nott, Michael Avery) were the only ones to know of Donovan. Keeping him a secret while Voldermort trained him to be the best among his followers, while he did this, Voldermort tried to put his soul back together, so he could properly connect and train with his son, until Severus told him about the prophecy. Voldermort set out to kill Harry. When the curse rebound, Voldermort was lost among the Death Eaters.
The child grew up, trying to best the Death Eaters, his dad's followers. The inner circle and Narcissa tried to protect him and train him to the best of their abilities, because they believed that Voldermort would return once again. Donovan, was an unregistered child, he was never put into the system, so when he turned 11, he did not receive a letter for Hogwarts.
When Narcissa had Draco, 4 years later with Lucius, Donovan was angry at first at her for betraying his father. Once Draco was brought to him, Donovan did nothing but protect his younger brother. The two brothers shared a very close bond, but no one told Draco that the two were brothers. At a young age, no one knew if the young boy could be trusted with information like that. It wasn't until Draco was 12 years old, did Donovan finally tell him. Draco wasn't surprised, he took it with ease, because the two were already close, and he understood why he wasn't told.
When Voldermort returns, Donovan is 18, he is no longer a child but is still eager to be everything he can, just as he was raised to be. Voldermort forbid him to come anywhere near Hogwarts during the time of the battle in Harry's 7th year, Donovan, while against his better wishes, obeyed.
No one on the dark side saw this coming and no idea knew how to prepare for their Lord's death. Donovan didn't stand for it, stepping to the plate as soon as he heard the news about his father, he took over before anyone could over think or run. With the inner circle by his side, minus Severus, due to his death by Nagini, it was not hard for him to take over with everyone being as scared as they were.
He swore to himself, to his family, and to his followers, he wouldn't rest until Harry Potter was dead.
The site takes place just freshly after all this as happen. The current year is 1998, during Harry's 7th year.
The Order of the Phoenix does not know about Donovan, so they are not taking it into consideration that the Death Eaters are not finished. They understand that the Death Eaters will not be letting their beliefs go, so there will be the few who risk themselves to honor their Lord's death.
This is a time for celebration for the light, since every one, or at least majority believes that the dark side is finally over. With having no idea of Donovan, the light side if trying to work through their loses of loved ones.
When Donovan comes out in the open, when attacks start happening once again, the order will need to reunite and work together once more to fight once again. Will the light conquer once again?
Light Side's Victory
Harry potter had an unusually dull life between the end of the war and now. He'd been asked by Kingsley to take up the role of the leader of the Order of the Phoenix, purely ceremonial, as the war has ended.
He has made minimal public appearances since the end of the war and where he was present, at best he'd say a few, mournful words for the wizards and witches lost, but that was all.
The war for Harry stayed open like a gushing wound and it's been left to fester. His manic eyes are looking for death eaters in every dark corner, every new person he meets. He second guesses himself and the people around him, he's forgetful and distant at best. He never approached Ginny again after the end of the war, a mixture of it slipping his mind and, honestly disinterest. He's far too preoccupied still clinging to the thought that the death eaters might regroup. He's waiting for the telltale whisper of Voldemort's consciousness in his brain.
So since the night of may the second, 1998 Harry has been published on a chocolate frog card, he made sure Severus Snape had is portrait hung in the headmaster's office, he has made a handful of public appearances as the leader of the order of the Phoenix and Auror in training, he's received an order of Merlin, first class for defeating the dark lord, though he did elect to go back to Hogwarts at Hermione's insistence.
Currently Harry feels utterly disconnected from reality. He's drowning himself in paranoia and has very little desire to do his studies or interact with other people. He can't help but shake the feeling of anticipation of war and fear which hasn't really left since the nightmares he'd have of the green light in the cupboard under the stairs.
Magical Creatures Rebellion
Alex Andrews, a werewolf, who once was a faithful Death Eater to Donovan, grew very tired of being treated like he was lesser then the people around him. Disliking being ordered around by a boy much younger than himself, being away from his family and still lying about what his life was like, Alex and his muggle-born mate, Casey decided to take down what is now the wizarding world. Recrutiting creatures of all kind to help them and fight to take down Donovan's gang and the ministry to empower creature's rights.
Believing that the magical creatures of the world are stronger, with their abilities and the additional wizarding magic, why was it that wizards dominated the magical world? Alex didn't like they were in hiding or ashamed, so instead, he embraced it. He wasn't going to stay for his family or himself being treated like less when he was able to fight. The first step though, is to rid the world of the purebloods who try to hurt them, that make them have to ride. Donovan and his Death Eaters are the first on Alex's list, he just hopes that there are enough magical creatures fed up with having to hide that they will help him fight in the Rebellion for All Magical Creatures.
