Learning to loosen up

Dean waited outside the club, waiting to get in. He knew he wasn't actually old enough to drink, but that didn't mean he wasn't old enough to get inside the place. Actually, the only reason he was here was because he had promised his friends that he would loosen up and learn to have a little fun. Dean made it to the front of the line. Waiting there was a guard who looked like he might've been part troll. The guard looked at him and determined that he wasn't worthy to enter. Dean wasn't going to stand for this. "You let me in, or so help me I will jinx you in a place where jinxes really aren't supposed to go. Don't you know who I am? I am the son of a high ranking auror!" As soon as he said it he regretted it. Although it was true he was the son of a high ranking auror, he failed to mention that his father was dead. The guard grunted and moved aside. Dean was in.

Connor couldn't believe he was actually here, he wasn't the type. After Almir leaving, he figured it was time to make new friends. Even if they weren't the best, but he didn't know to do it at school. He could at least drink here, he raised an eyebrow at the boy in front of him who giving the bouncer a hard time, he shook his head, didn't he know that would only cause his dad issues? If they let in an under age wizard and his big time auror dad got wing, wouldn't that get the bar into trouble? After being let through, Connor hesited before going over to the boy. He was younger than him, Connor knew that because he didn't reconize him from school. There was always the chance that he went to Drumstang, but that was so far away it would have been interesting if that was the case.

"Uhm.. Hi, I saw you were..You're..not of age are you?" Connor didn't want to sound rude, but he did come here to talk to people, because he hadn't really done a good job of that while in school. "Sorry! I'm Connor.."

"It's fine. I'm Dean, and yes, I am a little underage. I'm not planning on doing anything illegal though. I figured the best way to learn to loosen up would be to go to a nightclub. I'm more of the work hard till I drop kind of person." Dean replied. Dean was surprised. He hadn't planned on anyone walking up to him like this. He could tell this guy was similar to him and needed to loosen up.

Before the words could stop, Connor found himself offering, "I could buy it. I'm 17, if you wanted.." Connor was sure this was weird, but maybe he was a little desperate for friends at his point. He got his hopes up with Almir and it got shot down when the boy disappeared again. Connor beat himself up for that one, but he tired not to let it show that it effected as much as it did. Even though he knew he could get into some trouble, he found himself risking it to make a friend.

"It's fine, I'm not here to drink. I'm here to just get to know people." Dean said. "But I appreciate the offer." Dean decided to just be blunt. "You're pretty new at the whole making friends thing, aren't you?" Dean asked.

Connor tired to hide his embarrassment, it wasn't something he was good at, covering his emotions very well. He knew that, but he wanted to at least have one friend, maybe a night club was a bad place to try and make friends. Unless he was trying to hook up with them in the least, which Connor wasn't going to be able to do. It was hard enough to try and make friends with people let alone trying to go home with anyone. "Sorry, I just knew you went to Hogwarts..I mean, well, I figured, and sorry." Connor pushed his hair to the side, he probably would have had better luck talking to a girl like that but he didn't think about it. He didn't really want to go chat up a girl here though either.

Sighing, he should have just stayed home.

" it's fine. I'm new to making friends easily too." Dean said. "You just have to find the right topic to talk to people about." Dean could see this guy was really shy and needed a push in the right direction. "So, what are you're interests?

Interests? Connor read a lot, he spent of his time either studying or in the libary reading, but he didn't want to tell the new person that. He looked around, he did play Quidditch a few times, but he mostly played with the snitch he had on his own, not really in a game, just to pass the time on his own. "Quidditch." Connor said even though the most he's every played in an actual game was during flying lessons, he liked to watch the games at Hogwarts though. "Are you meeting someone? Sorry if I interrupted that.." Connor wasn't sure what to say really, he just didn't want to make a complete fool of himself.

"I'm not meeting anyone. I'm just here to make friends." Dean said. This guy had a curiousness about him.

Standing there awkwardly, Connor wasn't sure how to lead this conversation, he looked around the crowded area, this wasn't something he was going to be able to do. He couldn't believe he talked himself into coming here, that he thought that he could handle this kind of place on his own. "Me too...I think I'm gonna get a drink, I can..you know..well, I don't know." Connor looked up to the bar, they weren't allowed in the club underage, unless of course you threatened the bouncer into letting you in. "I think I should just go over there, this isn't really a place to make friends-friends." Looking to where everyone was dancing, it made Connor uncomfortable. This was definitely going down as one of the most awkward days he's had. Ever.
