Not a Date! -Alex-

Casey simply blinked at Alex. Was it strange? To know so much of children when he didn't even have his own? "I did mention I have cousins who have children. I used to help raise the kids when the parents were out for work." he explained, defending his knowledged about kids. It wasn't that Casey didn't want kids. He did! But how would he when he was gay and no male produces children even magical ones! He mentally sighed to himself. Then he blushed beet red this time. "I-I-I j-just read...." he stuttered again as he hid behind his drink once more.

Then Alex said he was adorable. Casey didn't know what to do or say. "Are you planning to turn me into a tomato at the end of this?" he asked, nearly mumbling his words. Because to Casey, it seemed that way. The other then said that he couldn't look up what happens on dates. Huh? Everything has a basis right? Procedures and outlines of events that should be followed. Everything had like some manual, so dating should be like that too, right? "Everything has to have a basis. Why is dating different?" he asked with confusion. Just goes to show that CAsey never dated before. He mentally slapped himself once more.

Alex began to explain about the dates being fun. Then the man asked. Was Casey having fun? Define 'fun'. Because all Casey knew was he felt embarassed for being stupid and all. "I-uhm.... I think so. Your enjoying making me into a tomato though." he answered as he picked up his cup once more.

Worried that he had gotten carried away, Alex apologized, "I guess I get a little carried away, I only meant to tease...well, kinda. I'm sorry if I'v offended you." Alex wasn't really sure now what to say, he was having a little bit of fun for second, the other man was beautiful, but other than that, he was very smart. Alex liked that, but he didn't to make the other man completely uncomfortable. "Would it help, if I told you an embarrassing story about myself? You know...level the playing field."

Smiling again, he tried to go for a different a approach with Casey, wanting him to know that Alex wasn't just a smartass. "This was like, shit, a month ago or so? My brother took me out, because I've been stressed to hell. But either way, we went drinking right? I'm half awake the entire time we're supposed to be clubbing, this girl came up to me. She was flirting, I'm about 90% sure I was too. At least until I passed out at the bar. Like, right in the middle of 'can I have your number'? I'm out. My brother woke my ass up, but he was laughing so hard that he in tears." Alex wasn't really into the girl and maybe he shouldn't have said this a on a date, but he thought the story was amusing enough. "The thing is, my brother, he's my kid brother. Always will be. He's 23 and I still haven't heard the end of it."

"And, yeah, I'm enjoying my time with you." Alex said with a small, taking a piece of the brownie.

Casey shook his head. "Its fine. You didn't mean any harm. I just turn red far too easy than most people." Casey explained as he took another sip of his drink. Then before Casey could say no, Alex began to share one embarrassing moment of his life so Casey listened. Then as he did so, he couldn't help but bite his lower lip to stop himself from laughing. Alex did seem to have done a very embarrassing moment. He then laughed behind his hand. "I'm sure Jason will bring it up again after a decade just to get a laugh." Casey commented and chuckled.

When Alex said that he was enjoying Casey's company, Casey smiled a bit. "Then I am enjoying this as well. Does that count?" he asked. Casey was book smart but when it came to dates and everything else, he was blind as a bat out in broad daylight.

Smiling when he saw Casey start to laugh at his story, before he realized, he never told Casey his brother's name. Raising an eyebrow, he remembered that his younger brother and the man across from him were in the same house, only two years apart. Nodding, "I don't remember you and Jase every being friends in school, and me and Jase were pretty close. So how would you remember that he's my brother?" Alex wasn't grilling Casey, he was just curious to why Jason would have standed out to Casey enough to remember that he was Alex's brother, without Alex and Casey every talking in school.

Nodding with a smile, "If you enjoying yourself and you attracted to me, I'm gonna have to say this not only a date, but it's a good date. Which is even more rare." Alex spoke as if this was something to be impressed about, the awe in his voice was playful, so was the small smile he gave to his date. "So, now you know all about my kids, my brother, my ex, and seen me sleeping, I think I need to know about you now. When was your last relationship?" He hoped he wasn't bringing up anything sensitive, but with the way Casey spoke about dating, Alex was sure that Casey had never been on a date. Ever. But he wouldn't ask that bluntly, he didn't want to be rude.

Casey chuckled, Alex already forgot? "I told you back at the bookshop. Same house as Jason Andrews. Just because your brother never mentioned me, it doesn't mean we don't know who is who in our house. We just don't get in each other's way really. Unless there is something we need from them, it would probably be the only time that we 'claw interact with one another." Casey explained. "Also, the fact that your Alex Dean Andrews and you yourself mentioned you have a brother in Ravenclaw, there was only one Andrews during my time as well so it had to be Jason Andrews obviously." Casey added as he placed his cup down and smiled a bit. He left out the fact that he had seen Alex a so many times from a far and would look at the other when he could then blend into the shadows once more.

When Alex said that this was a good date, Casey turned red once more. Seriously? Being teased by this man should be a crime. He tried to kill his blush but it wasn't easy. He grabbed on the question posted and smiled sadly. "I've never been in a relationship before. Never thought about it really and never found someone who would willing be seen with someone like me: awkward, too tall and too socially outcast for being smart." Casey explained in a low voice, self-pity was rising inside him once more.

"My ex girlfriend, she was a Ravenclaw, she was actually only a hear above you. Than my brother being a Ravenclaw. I'm really used to the 'need to be right, always right' all the damn time. So you'll be alright with my in the smarty pants department." Alex grinned, trying to cheer Casey up after he saw him going downhill with it, he shook his head, thinking about what else he could say to Casey. He was observant for sure, Alex barely cared about who was in his classes let alone his entire house, Casey had no issue learning everyone's name and who they were.

Making a small hum sound, "As for too tall, I think your gorgeous, but that hair of your is what's doing it for me. And your big eyes too. It's...endearing." Alex finished after finding the right wording, "I bet you make the best puppy face, the long hair, gorgeous brown eyes, I can really see that." Moving his hand to Casey's hair, he tucked a piece behind Casey's ear, not really thinking about if he should be touching Casey so soon or not, he didn't really care either. He was sure if Casey didn't like it, he'd move. "Don't down yourself so much, your beautiful."

Sitting back, taking a sip of his coffee, Alex tilted his head, he had to see this guy again. Alex didn't think he'd be able to stay away, ever. "Puppy. That's what you remind me of. Kinda playful, damn cute, but you really aren't scared to bite if you need to." He knew he would have to get ready to leave soon, but he didn't want to leave just yet. Wishing he had more time with the other man, Alex asked, "When can I see you again, Puppy?"

Casey shrugged. "I blend into the shadows. I don't like standing out much. Your ex girlfriend was in my house too?" he asked before he realized. "Oh you mean Lynn what's her last name? I can't remember. But I saw her with you a few times. That's about it." Casey explained calmly. He wasn't really cheered up as Alex tried but he smiled a bit for the sake of smiling.

Then Alex began to compliment him and went as far as tucking a few stray locks behind his ear. Casey blinked and stared and blushed. No one had ever done that before. Aside from his mom that is. He was beginning to wonder if Alex was real. No one was kind to Casey the way Alex was. Then the cherry on top came down. Alex said he was beautiful. This just made Casey grow redder and look away. "I'm not." he whispered sadly.

Puppy? He reminded Alex of a puppy? Casey didn't even know how to feel about it. Of all things... a puppy? Really? Then before he could even stop himself, he answered Alex. "Y-you'd want to see me again?" he sounded so unbelieving.

Moving his hand to Casey's cheek, he moved to make Casey look at him, "Yeah, you are." Alex was only willing to reassure the other man of this because to Alex it really did seem like Casey believed what he was saying, not wanting that to be so, he wanted to make sure that wasn't the case. "I get nothing by lying to you, I'm looking right at you, and I think your beautiful." He would have kissed Casey than and there, but he didn't, he only kept eye contact so that Casey did understand that Alex wasn't playing around.

Smiling a little, "I hope I didn't offend you." He saw Casey's face reaction without the words, he went to clarify, hoping it would help the younger man feel like less awkward. "Do something for me? You know what the puppy lip is right? Do that, for me please? And just look up." He hoped he could get Casey to do this small thing for him, even it was strange, "I swear there's a point here."

Leaning in, as if he was telling a secret, "I would love to see you again."

The touch that he was given felt so nice. He had never felt anything like this ever. When Alex reassured him that he wasn't lying to him or anything, he simply nodded. "Thank you... I think." Casey said, not really sure if he was thanking for the words or the touch. But looking at Alex made him believe for a brief moment that Alex wasn't lying to him at all.

Casey shook his head and smiled a bit. "Its alright." he told Alex softly. Then Casey titled his head to the side and his face looked confused. Without even thinking it, Casey did what Alex asked without question, showing the puppy lip look to Alex, Merlin knows why.

Casey blushed deep red when Alex leaned in and said that he really wanted to see Casey again. He looked down and whispered, "Anytime is alright... You can just owl me."

Nodding, "Your welcome." He didn't see a reason Casey shouldn't understand how he looked, even Alex trying to win this guy over, he'd think the same thing. Casey was attractive, but he was more than just simply attractive, he was stunning. Anyone could see that, it bothered Alex that Casey couldn't see that too. He pulled his hand away, and resting it on over Casey's wrist, just too keep touching the other man without making it awkward for the two of them.

As soon as Casey did as Alex asked, he grinned, "That's it, right there, that look alone, you have it all baby. That's the face I could never say no too." Alex wanted so badly to lean over and kiss Casey's lips, his eyes looking them over trying to make everything good for them. "Puppy, I really want to kiss you right now. Will you let me?" Alex finally caved, he asked to make sure he wasn't going too far.

Smiling when Casey said Alex could owl him, he leaned forward, his lips just barely touching Casey's, in their first kiss.
