"Ten points to Slytherin. Well done Miss Smith." Keri wasn't really that surprised. Puplia was an exceptionally bright girl, she just just hadn't realized the girl had been paying attention in her class.
"Mister Collins, where exactly do you think you're going?" She put her hands on her hips. Was this the same boy that stayed to himself in the back of the room? She pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Mister Collins, if you don't get back in your seat this instant you will have to meet with me for detention this Friday." How dare this 7th year behave in her class this way? He was setting a bad example for the younger students.

As soon as he heard the words detention come out his teacher's mouth, he knew his parents were not going to be happy with him. He didn't think they would be mad, but they definitely going to be disappointed. That alone made Connor feel guilty. He turned his head to the side, "I'll see you Friday Professor when I drop this class." It was simple and it was dismissive, it was disrespectful, it was out of character for Connor. There was just too much going on in his head for him to balance it out right now.
"And Professor, setting a bad example is being a hypocrite for your class. Younger or older, the same things apply. Being from one house and favoring one student over that house, wonder what house you were in Professor." The words coming out of his mouth, he couldn't believe he was speaking. He had only seen two students do this during his time at Hogwarts, and both times it happen, he was embarrassed for them. Now he was the one causing issues. He was talking about the Gryffindor student who had been speaking out of turn the entire beginning of class. Connor walked out of the class after that.
Keri narrowed her eyes. "Mister Collins, you will also see me the Friday after, and added to your second detention, ten more points will be taken away from Ravenclaw. We will discuss your issues with my class both of those times so I can decide whether of not you may drop my class."
The professor normally allowed a student to drop her class at any moment, considering one required the teachers signature, but this student was being exceptionally ridiculous.
"And, since you seem to be unaware, Miss Lupin raised her hand every time. And since you're older than the majority of the class, I would expect you to behave more maturely." She hissed the last word.

Raising an eyebrow, Connor hadn't failed a class since he started Hogwarts, he really didn't see how this one glass was going to effect his graduation. He would just have to pass his NEWTS, if his professor refused to drop him, Connor would just have to figure something out. But he wasn't entering this class again. "I look forward to it." Connor held on to the door as his professor kept speaking, Connor should have just stopped talking, he knew that, he knew his parents weren't going to like this, but really Connor didn't want to care about it right now.
Taking his eyes to meet his Professor's, Connor just shook his head, "I'll be sure to remember that the next time, thank you." Shutting the door behind him, Connor leaned against it. Two detentions, twenty points, and still a stupid issue with a stupid girl. Connor was not liking his 7th year very much..at all.
The teacher bit back a curse, and instead said. "I'll see you then Mister Collins." She turned back to the class.
"Now, will someone please tell me what the answer to this equation is? 1.5.1979" Aforementioned equation was written on the board behind her. She no longer waited on a single student, since today had been filled with surprises.
"And since Mister Collins is accusing me of favoritism, please do not speak out of turn." She fought to keep from rolling her eyes, though her voice conveyed enough sarcasm to cover for it. She needed to keep from getting angry with the quiet 7th year. He was only a child after all. She needed to keep her cool and behave in an orderly manner, as professors should.
Puplia just didn't get it. How could that boy just walk out like that? She scuffed at him, show off no good, jerk. Who the hell did he think he was getting up and walking out like that? Looking between the boy and her Professor, she couldn't believe that the boy lost his house 20 points! Good for him, Slytherin will definitely be getting more points and she was earning back the points she lost with that bloody Perfect. Moving her hand in the air again, ready to answer the question, and hopefully another 10 points for Slytherin.
"Professor, do you really believe that these numbers tell about our lives?" Puplia asked, not actually curious, but figured her asking and seemingly interested would make her look better than the blonde haired Ravenclaw who stormed out.
Keri sat a and waited before groaning quietly. Back to the quietness of an empty classroom. She saw the Slytherin in the back raise her hand, but with less of an answering expression but more of a questioning one. She sighed "Miss Smith?" She responded
"Miss Smith, not to be rude, but if I didn't believe in numerology, do you think I'd teach Arithmancy? Tell me your birthdate." She'd show her class that arithmancy had some truth to it. She might actually do this sort of thing of thing on a regular basis.

Ceres sighed. What was the point of getting into a discussion of whether or not a teacher believed in his subject? Who would extensively study something they didn't believe in, have no faith in or weren't interested in? Ceres herself would never be caught dead anywhere near a Divination lesson, since she was certain this was utter nonsense. She sighed again. Couldn't this girl have waited for after class to talk to the professor? Ceres wondered if Professor Animus was still interested in the answer to the equation she had written on the board or if the lesson would now go an entirely different direction. That had been the pro of being home-schooled by her mother. Lessons had had a clear plan, and her mother rarely strayed from that. Ceres raised her hand.

Taken back by her Professor's bluntness, she raised both eyebrows, "Not to be rude Professor, but one doesn't have to believe something is necessary to teach it." Annoyed with her Professor nonprofessional ways to keeping a cool head, she sat back in her chair, "July 14, 1984." She answered the question anyway, there was no point in starting a riot like that Ravenclaw boy did. Puplia didn't want other looking at her like they did him, spoiled arse.
"My number would be 7 Professor..." She wondered what meant for her in this belief, is anyone could do this, then it couldn't be that great. Not everyone could do Division, but that was a waste of time anyway. "Professor, could we ask specific questions and get specific answers doing Arithmancy?"
Before turning to write something on the board, she saw a look of annoyance fleet across another Slytherin girl's face. "Yes? Miss Lestrange?" She waited for the girl to answer before turning to one Puplia Smith.
"Well, that depends on the type of question you're asking. It's a bit general in all honesty. For instance, if you were to ask that name of who you were to marry, you wouldn't get an answer out of Arithmancy. That's where you'd turn to divination. However, if you were to ask what sort of person would be best for you to marry- that's where this subject is decisively helpful." She looked at the girl to make sure she got her point across.
"Somebody who has the number 7 for a life path number is more often than not a bit of a lone wolf, you prefer being alone and you're a but negative. However, when you're in a good mood, you're the life of the party, compelling towards the opposite sex and incredibly popular. Someone with the number 7 lives by their own rules for the most part and enjoys to show off their wit." Keri eyes the young girl in front of her with a small smirk. That sounded quite a bit like Miss Smith, and anyone who denied it must've been a bit off.
