Appearance
Alexander is 6' even with a thin, willowy frame. His skin is pale and unblemished and his eyes are the palest aurora blue. His face is long and thin, with equally thin eyebrows and nose. His lips are a dusty pink, the bottom lush and full, while the top is thin. He's got long legs and a long neck, while his stomach is a bit awkward. His black hair is in a choppy sort-of mullet, shorter around his eyes and ears and neck length in the back. He has three tattoos on his arms and his lip is pierced twice. He often wears eyeliner and can most commonly be seen in jeans and a t-shirt - when he's not in his school robes.
Character History
Alexander, Alex to friends, is a half-blood who grew up in London, England. From the time he was young he was always shy when uncomfortable and undeniably "girly". He always preferred makeup and music over sports any day of the week. His family, his father especially, didn't especially accept the fact that he's gay but left him alone as long as he got his studies done and wasn't too obvious about it. His older brother, the biggest influence in his life, was the one to teach him that it's okay to be whoever you are and not care about what everyone thinks. After learning that lesson he stopped caring about just anyone he met and their shallow words stopped hurting him. He spent most of his time with his brother and his brother's friends who were soon his friends too. While all this happened he found out about the Wizarding World - his father, who didn't really approve, had convinced his mother not to tell either of them until they got their letter. His brother never got his letter and therefore never found out, but when Alex's parents told him he couldn't keep it to himself and told his brother too. He was excited at first but the shine of the new world wore off after awhile. People are the same everywhere you go after all. He started attending Hogwarts and had what fun he could, but he lived for the summers he got to go home and be with his brother, who was steadily introducing him to the world of underground London. During the summer he was a partier - out every night until late in the morning, often drinking and smoking, going to crazy concerts for bands no one had ever heard of and having his share of flings. But during the school year he was shy and reserved, studying hard and being a "good boy". He didn't have any close friends, but he did have people he cared about and talked to. He was indifferent during the majority of the war, simply not caring about people - muggle or wizard. His "best friend" at Hogwarts is his hairless cat Ludwig.
Family History
Alex's mother is a pureblood wizard named Aileen Boivin nee Lestrange - a very distant fifth cousin of the Lestrange brothers whose grandmother was disowned for not having the right morals. His mother grew up in an ordinary wizarding household - nothing special, the typical student. When she graduated she decided to see the muggle side of things before settling into a job, where she met Alex's father, and then became a stay at home mother. Edgar Boivin is a regular old muggle. He grew up ordinarily in the suburbs of England, went to a respectable college, and graduated to a nine to five office job where he spends most of his time doing paperwork. He met Aileen during what he calls his "wild years", where he spent a good deal of his time in pubs betting on rugby. They had a whirlwind summer romance and Edgar proposed to Aileen three months later. They married and he soon discovered her secret; she was a witch. He wasn't happy but he didn't hate her either. He dealt with it. But at the same time, if his children didn't have to be part of it, he didn't want them to be. Two years after that they had Alex's older brother Ashton. Ashton grew up wild and rebellious. He was the baby of the family, the center of his parents' world, until they had Alex when he was six. Suddenly he got a third of the attention and he felt completely ignored - understandable with a baby in the house, but not to a six year old. He almost hated his little brother for a few years and by his tenth birthday he was running with the "bad" crowd, doing his own thing and defying as many of his parents' wishes as possible. Soon after that his parents noticed Alex's quirks and in a bout of sympathy for him Ashton took him under his wing, which is when they started really growing close.
Parents: Edgar Boivin and Aileen Boivin nee Lestrange.
Siblings: Ashton Boivin.
RP Sample:Alex sighed in boredom. He hated the school year. There was never anything fun to do, never a chance to just let loose and be himself. It was always study, study, study. Don't get him wrong, he loved to learn... but he loves to have fun even more. The only person in this God-forsaken school he can even have a decent conversation with is Ludwig. Sighing again, he shifted from his stomach to his back, trying to get comfortable on the giant bed - nothing like his modest, lumpy bed back home. He was feeling especially homesick today and was venting it in frustration towards the lack of fun things to do at school.
In all honesty he loved school. He loved to learn, he loved the classes, he loved all the interesting people with their own histories for him to observe and discover... but everyone in the school couldn't equal Ashton. His brother was the one person there for him through thick and thin, the only reason he hadn't broken down when he was younger. His brother made him who he is today and he loved him dearly. And no one in the school got him like his brother. "God this sucks," he mumbled grumpily.
