Benjamin slightly raised an eyebrow when Mr. Potter claimed not to be paranoid but said nothing. The boy’s face showed that he should not push this any further, so he kept his mouth shut. He knew that saying something about it would start an endless debate without much value. “Still you should try to let go, you did your job, you deserve some time to relax. Well I guess you have to wait until summer for that with the upcoming exams and all… but still you get the point.” He said calmly as if this was the most common situation ever.
“I’ll just see how things turn out, for now I have no clue what’s going to happen to this world. Still I’m not planning on loosing this job so keep your mouth shut. I do hope I can trust you on that.” His tone turned more serious and he kept his eyes locked on the student. He wasn’t worried one bit of getting locked up in Azkaban. What was widely known to anyone who did a bit of research in the Ministry files could find the following about him: Benjamin Burke, joined the death eaters at the age of 17 because his whole family was part of it. Betrayed them once his father died and his wife got pregnant. Taken to Azkaban in 1988 and spend six years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. In 1994 the Death Eater who set him up because he’d betrayed them was taken to Azkaban instead.
Potter backed out of the room and Benjamin watched him go. “A good remaining day to you Mr. Potter.” He said as if a class just ended. Then he closed his eyes and spoke in a lower volume, almost whispering. “I just want you to know that I’m no threat to anyone here. If that wasn’t the case or if I couldn’t rely on my own potions, I would never gone for a job which involves children.” Opening his eyes again, he looked at Potter and his eyes showed that he believed in his own words. There was no way he’d harm a child. Ever since he became a father such a thing just was impossible. “See you around, don’t forget your work next time.”
