Nodding, when Casey explained not having any kids, he didn't want to come back a rude comment after he saw the facial expression. Alex frowned for a moment, "You know, I grew up with a younger brother and I have kids, they are just bad as they are good...so really, they're pretty over rated..most of the time." Alex grinned a little, bumping his shoulder into the taller man as he moved to sit down. "So how old are you Casey, if you don't mind me asking?" Alex wondered aloud, Casey had to be in his ball park at least a little.

Why was he tired? Because he was working and balancing two kids, and a full moon every month. "Single dad working, my oldest is only 5, so not quiet in the babysitter range yet." Alex smiled halfheartedly, he was still pretty bitter about Lynn leaving him some days, but on others, he was just happy to be with both of their kids every day. "I don't mind you asking, nearly falling asleep in a public bookstore raises questions."

Casey smiled a bit and chuckled. "Maybe your right... I just think differently because I'm an only child. I always thought what it would be like to have a sibling. But I never got that wish. And I don't think I'll able to have kids." he said as he sighed and leaned back on his seat. Then he chuckled again, "You won't believe me if I tell you. So let's just put it as me being i my twenty's." he joked. No one usually did believe him when he told them his age because he was so damn tall than most.

Then Casey nodded. A single dad with two kids. That's got to be tough. "Oh. Must be hard to care for them. Who watches them when you work?" Casey asked, completely not noticing that it was heading personal matters already. But he was just so fascinated by Alex. He then nodded. "It would have been bad if you fell off your chair too." Casey commented and chuckled.

"Well, I have a younger brother, you're more than welcome to borrow him. He's being my nanny right now while I'm book shopping." Alex laughed to himself, it was a joke he used with Jason all the time now, but Jason didn't really mind watching the kids, which Alex was more than thankful for. He was glad that he didn't have to find daycare and have to pay for that too, which would have been hard. "Oh you can't do that, how old are you? If your saying that...I say 26." Alex guessed taking a shot in the dark, liking the fact that the younger man looked young. If it wasn't for his height, Alex probably would have assumed 22 for the other male.

"Oi!" Alex laughed, if he had indeed fallen off than god knows how that would have happen, "Well, than I would have been guaranteed your attention then huuh?" The older man began to flirt again.

Casey couldn't help but laugh. "I don't think your brother would be so glad that you'd lone him for the day as a brother to someone else. But the thought is amusing... What kind of book are you looking for? I might be able to help." Casey offered. He knew the shop even with his eyes closed. He the laughed again when Alex tried to guess. "Ouch... Cloes though. I'm twenty-five." Casey corrected and smiled.

He laughed once more when Alex reacted but the sobered up when the other flirted? Casey blushed again instantly. Damn! Why was this happening? "It would have gathered everyone's attention, not just mine, you know." he said, trying to get out of the blush he was in.

Casey was only a year behind Lynn then, he wondered if he went to Hogwarts too, how had two not met before? Alex was sure he'd have seen him before, he would not have just glanced over this gorgeous person so easily. "Aww your baby." Alex joked, with a smirk, just being playful with the younger man. He was enjoying Casey's company, he wondered if they would see each other again after this. Alex was pretty sure he wanted to. "So...you went to Hogwarts?"

As soon as the blush hit, Alex was more than sure he wanted to see Casey again. Smiling, he continued on without missing a beat, "Well maybe you're only one's attention I wanted."

Casey choked on air and tried hard not to blush. He then nodded when answered. "I did. Sorted into Ravenclaw House." he told Alex. "You were in Hogwarts too. I actually know you. Alex Dean Andrews of Slytherin House. Part of the Quidditch team and a lady's man. Your Jason Andrew's brother, he was i Ravenclaw as well, he him a little but most of us keep to ourselves, even i our own house." Casey said as he crossed his leg and leaned back on his seat.

Casey went wide eye as his mind processed what Alex just said. Just his attention? "Why mine alone?" he asked. Surely he was just joking right?

Taken back once again, Alex wasn't sure how to take this man, "Oh really now? Well, damn, now I feel like the ass here. I have a hard time believing I looked right over you, especially since you were right between my brother and my girlfriend at the time, in the same house. Imagine that." Alex sat back against the chair, looking Casey over again, he really wished he had talked to the man sooner.

"Because what use is having everyone's attention if the prettiest girl at the ball doesn't even give you a glance?"

Casey chuckled, "I am one of those that blended into the shadows and walls of Ravenclaw House. No one will notice you unless you make yourself known in the house. Many know Jason because of you really."[/] Casey told Alex and smirked little. This man had a girlfriend and kids. Hmmm... Something in Casey just shattered a bit.

Casey couldn't believe what he was hearing. "You're not serious are you? And just in case you haven't notices, I'm a guy and you just said you have a girlfriend." Casey said, not liking that Alex seemed to be playing him.

"I also said I was a single dad when we started this conversation." Starring at Casey for a moment, not sure why he was having to explain himself not even an hour after meeting the younger man, but he continued on anyway. "She left me, a little under a year ago. I'm sorry that I've offended you." Alex's voice wasn't sorry at all, in fact he was more disappointed that the playfulness of their conversation had taken a sour turn. He thought that Casey was interested in this as well, sure they've only been talking for a little while, but he was sure Casey had been flirting back.

Realizing he got too comfortable talking with the stranger, Alex nodded, unsure of where to take the conversation the awkward spot it was in. Perhaps he should stand up now, taking the hint that he should leave. "I should actually be getting back to those kids you mentioned, I got what I came here for." Alex held up the book, as he began to stand from his chair.

Casey mentally slapped himself for what he said. "A-a-alex... I'm sorry. I-i-i-i didn't mean to offend." Casey apologized, feeling horrible now. The man did say he was a single father but Casey didn't miss the part when he said 'girlfriend' so Casey shouldn't be blame so much right? But he still felt horrible. "No! I'm the one who should apologize for offending you!" Casey blurted out then slapped his mouth shut. Shit! He screamed which he usually didn't do on a normal basis.

When Alex said he was going to go home now, Casey felt a bit sad. But the horrible feeling was still there. "I really am sorry..." he whispered as Alex stood up and Casey just looked down on his lap.
