“Well at least you’ve thought that out.” Benjamin shrugged when Alex told him that this Casey was going to deal with the politics. Beauclaire had told him a little about the relationship between Alex and his mate. How that woman knew all that stuff, he didn’t know. Still he couldn’t care less with whom Andrews shared his bed. Casey may be a muggleborn, but everything was better than Alex trying to get involved in such things. It would only turn out like a disaster.
Benjamin growled a little at the way Andrews said things. But that didn’t take away the fact that it was the truth, they were taking orders from a kid who knew nothing of the world. “I see your point.” He answered shortly. When Andrews asked what they had done Burke shrugged. “Not much. I’ve been a teacher, which was nice. But we’ve achieved nothing of our goals.” He sighed, losing more faith in what they were doing every minute.
Not giving a yes or no directly he pointed at the cabinet which was way too big for this room. “Take what you need, read before using or ask me what it does and how it has to be consumed.” There were various potions which could have influence on the outcome of this all. With this he knew he already betrayed the last human who trusted him, the young lord must be so disappointed in him. “I won’t fight against you, I want to see if the young lord can prove his value. Because I have no more faith in this suicide mission.” If this was the best decision, he didn’t know. But he was sick of playing a loyal lapdog when nothing came in return.
“The thing is, even when the ministry might not want my head on a plate. If I leave here, betray everyone here, there are going to be some pisse off death eaters who do.” He whispered, even when he had a runic field of silence in this room. Was it worth a try? Things probably either resulted in a better life or death.
A painful chuckle escaped his mouth and he shook his head. “I appreciate your offer but even when I am save, Isa will never allow it. Still I’m glad to hear that there are families when this being is not a problem. We come from different places, Andrews. I can’t blame her, I’d probably have done the same, the way both Isa and I were raised.”
As the subject turned back to the rebel against the death eaters, Ben finished his glass. “Right now I have my potions to offer. When the day comes, I’ll probably notice it. Then I’ll decide. Because when I leave, I have no place to go.”
