Letter to Casey 

Casey, 

I've been thinking about what I'm going to do for our second date, and I've decided I wanted it to be a surprise. If your free this Saturday, I'd like to come get you from your place... or maybe meet you somewhere? I can't give away the surprise too early by letting you meet me at the place. If you can be free by 6 o'clock, I really think you'll enjoy yourself. I even promise to get you home at a reasonable hour

Dear Alex,

I'm surprised that you went through all the trouble really. But I am grateful. Saturday sounds good to me. Meet you outside the Leaky by 6? And dress semi-formal? It peaks my curiousity as to what you have planned out. And just so you know I do have a place of my own so no one will really care if I come home late or not. Anyway, I'm sure whatever it is that you have planned out will turn up good and might even surprise me. I do like surprises. Hmmm... I can't wait.

Meeting outside of the Leaky once again, Alex had a feeling this was going to be their meeting spot from now on. It was far less confusing, and well, Alex didn't know Casey enough to let him know where he lived with two kids living in the same house as him. Looking around, he waited for his date, wondering if Casey was going like what he had planned. It was a little more than what a second date was worth, but wasn't first impressions the most important? The ones that he needed to use to impress?

Licking his lips, he looked down at himself, as if his clothes had changed since he had left. Maybe they didn't need formal, but he wanted Casey to be at least warm. Maybe that should been a better word for it. Hoping Casey didn't didn't turn up in a tie now, that Alex had misworded something. He could just give the other man his jacket. Yeah. That's what he could do if Casey didn't dress that way Alex had pictured.

Letting out a breath, Alex really did hope it wasn't too much for a second date. Everything was ready, they just had to show. It took a lot of work, but it was mainly done by other people, Lynn was even a good help. He was in a world surrounded by Ravenclaws.

Casey was a bit nervous. He had never been on a date before he wasn't sure what he ought to do or act. He just sighed as he finished dressing himself and hoped to Merlin that everything would be alright. He just hoped that everything would go downhill or horrible. He checked himself over once more before looking at his watch and saw that he had ten minutes left. "Shoot! he cried as he ran out his bedroom and down the stairs, grabbing his wallet and keys before leaving the back door and megically locking his house down. He went to the apparation point at the back and apparated just in front of the entrance to Diagon Alley. He entered the pub and just passed through the crowd to head out the front door.

When he got there, he was still trying to catch his breath when he saw Alex. Casey then stopped breathing all together. Damn! He looked so... so... so amazing that Casey wasn't even able to say 'hi' at least. He just stared at Alex, forgetting the rest of the world.

Smiling, Alex looked over the other man, relieved, Casey was dressed the way Alex had meant it even if he worded the entire thing incorrectly. "Wow." Was all Alex said, he moved his hand over the collar of Casey's leather jacket. Making a look of approval, Alex looked up to Casey's face, "I'll apperate us, it's not really in a restaurant." Holding out his hand for Casey to take, Alex was still nervous about this date, but he hoped Casey like his efforts.

After they apperated, they were a few miles from town, but it was in a small opening, looking out to the view, the city lights of London were bright but they were far enough away to not hear the sounds coming from the city. Well, Alex could hear some sounds, but they were faint, so he only assumed Casey wouldn't be able to hear anything. Pointing to the picnic that was set up on the open area, Alex didn't look up from it, nervous about what he had done. "So...yeah. Here is it is. This isn't really your surprise, it's just the date part." Moving towards the place setting, Alex looked up at Casey, "Uhm, you want to sit down? I brought wine and whatever sandwiches that were at store..oh uhm, pie too."

Casey tried not to blush but it was hard. The fact that Alex said 'wow' when he saw him was enough to cause Casey's face to heat up again. He fidgeted a bit a bit then nodded, taking Alex's hand without hesitation. He felt that he could trust this man. Casey didn't know why but he just felt it.

Then they arrived and his eyes widen in great surprise. The city lights looked very beautiful. Casey had never seen the city at night before... and from a point of view. Then Alex showed him the picnic which made Casey bite his lower lip. The man did all this for him? Why? He turned to listen to Alex. This wasn't all? There was more? Casey just blinked. He slowly nodded and sat down. "You did all this?" he asked, unsure most if he was even worth all the effort really.

Alex shrugged but nodded, "Uhm...well, yeah. I mean, I bought some of this stuff. I'm an alright cook for peanut butter and jelly or grilled cheese, but not much else." Feeling slightly embarrassed now his efforts, Alex sat down on the edge of the blanket, hoping to encourage Casey to follow suit. He had arranged everything to work out, so things just needed to go as planned and things would be okay. "Uhm, eh...kinda. I mean, it's just, well, you like charms. And I thought maybe I could do something with that. Could you sit down? Sorry, it's...I'm like brand new to doing this kind of thing again."

Looking outwards towards the view, Alex hoped this was the part that Casey didn't think he had over done it. The older man just remembered that Casey was going to study charms and such, so it was something working with that. Taking his wand and taking what looked like a small red dynomite from the basket, he held it out on his palm, lighting the tiny wick. The dynomite flew into the air like a firework. Watch as the small firework exploded into one things after another, high enough that they could be seen cleary from the city grounds.

As the colors began to change, the words started to form in the middle of the words. "Casey"

Casey listened and couldn't help but chuckle as he sat down when Alex did. "I don't mind pb&j's. AS long as you did it yourself, I would have enjoyed it still. And I love grilled cheese sandwiches along with clubhouse sandwiches." he said, smiling at the older man who had done so much for Casey. Why he was doing it, Casey didn't know. He wanted to ask but he was scared... scared of finding out the answer. When Alex said he was brand new to this, Casey laughed this time. "I should be the one nervous. Like I told you, I've never been on a date... ever. And your doing fine. You've done so much already." he praised Alex for the night already because it was true. Alex was doing great so far.

Then when Alex lit something and that something flew into the sky, Casey's attention went to the sky that now had his name. His eyes widen in surprise. Oh my... Casey covered his mouth with one of his hands. "Oh Alex... Its amazing... You didn't have too... Its... I..." Casey was trying to look for the right words to tell Alex how thankful he was. Casey felt so special that now, the pit of his stomach began to churn and warn him to not get used to it. His body was telling him to not expect anything too much or he would get hurt when Alex decided that he didn't like Casey after all.

Biting his lips, as the fireworks went off, Alex looked over to Casey, nervousness in his stomach, he hoped that Casey would like what he had done. "So uhm, yeah. I mean, we could have seen them in the city too. But I thought this was you know..a little better." Alex smiled handing over one of the sandwiches he had bought from the shops in London. "Turkey and cheese, I have sodas in there too. Or uhm, I know you said your a light weight, but I brought some coolers in the basket." Alex said pulling one out for himself, cracking open the can.

Looking up at were the fireworks had faded and were now just smokey, Alex wondered what the people in the city were thinking of the random show. If they were looking around for this "Casey". "How's it feel that the city of London are all thinking about you?" Alex grinned taking a sip of his drink, "So..I did good yeah?" His voice was playful and mocking, but he was only nervous and wondering.

He was going to save the wine for when he cut the pie, but if Casey wanted it now, he would opened the bottle for them. Alex really couldn't help but hope they worked out.

When Alex began to speak, he couldn’t help but chuckle. The other was nervous when Casey was the one who knew nothing about dates. He got a sandwich that Alex suggested and took a bit. ”Thank you Alex… No one has ever done all this for me. Why you bothered to do so much baffles me really but I am glad for all this. Your surprise was beautiful.” he thanked the other for everything. Casey didn’t want it to be left unsaid. He didn’t know how long he had til the chime struck twelve and everything disappears… including Alex.

Casey couldn’t help but laugh this time. ”Well, I know for sure that the whole city of London thinks that ‘Casey’ is on lucky ‘girl’ for ‘her’ name to be up on the night sky for the whole city to see. But its very appreciated still… even if they think that I’m a girl and not a guy.” Casey answered and then nodded. ”You did wonderfully, Alex. More than you should have which amazed me. Why you did all this for me is a wonder. I don’t feel like I deserve all this.” he told Alex honestly but smiled still.
