"Mister Collins, yes or no. would you like to have good marks in Arithmancy before you leave Hogwarts?" She had something in mind to help the young boy get good marks in her class.

"Mister Collins, If you had asked me to drop you, without any reason, I would not have been able to drop you. If you had given me a legitimate reason for wanting to drop my class, no matter how small, I would have. However, considering you haven't shown me an ounce of respect since you got a single question wrong, though it was your decision to blurt out the wrong answer in class, I will not drop you until you decide to behave like a young man should. " She rubbed her temples, this boy was starting to give her a headache.
"If you pass this, I will give you full marks until after your NEWTs. Which will give you a better job opportunity."

She said to him calmly. "I will drop you when our detentions are over. And at the rate you're going, you may get to take your NEWTs. Also, if I may, I'd like to mention the fact that whatever job you apply for will get a copy of your permanent record, and any extra paperwork will go on there including detention records, how many points were taken away every year, and why any class was dropped. Which may or may not affect your application." She said seriously.

(OOC - In the second movie, after Harry and Ron stole the car, Dumbledore told Snape that it would was up to their Head of House if the two should be expelled.)

Opening his mouth to argue with his professor, he finally just shrugged. He didn't know what he wanted to be, he thought about going to train to be a healer after Hogwarts, but he wasn't sure that was something he wanted to do everyday. "Professor, you've given me no reason to give you respect. You're my professor, so I did, until the last time I had class with you. You know just as well as me, I never speak out like that. Your reaction was not only humiliating but it was rude, if I caused trouble daily to your class, then I would have understood your reaction, but I didn't." Connor spoke more to his desk than to his Professor, telling her wasn't really going to do anything for him, but she just kept pushing. If had a reason. He didn't have one she would understand.

"I'll be sure not to add as one of many references I already have then Professor." Connor narrowed his eyes this time, glaring at his teacher, she was actually threatening his future because he didn't want to be in her class? Bloody bitch. "Start the bloody timer than, I'd like to leave." Connor was fuming now, he had worked hard on his studies his entire Hogwarts career, and she was going to threaten it because he didn't want to be in her bloody classroom?

Dipping the quill into the ink, Connor began his exam.

"Mr. Collins, I don't need any additional reason for your respect other than the fact that I'm your elder. I would hope that your parents taught you not to behave that way when a professor uses you as an example." She pursed her lips and thought for a second. "If you paid attention in my class, you would notice that I do that with anyone that blurts out an incorrect answer. Notice how not many people answer questions now?"

She rolled her eyes at the younger boy. "I'm not trying to ruin your career. I'm simply pointing out the fact that what you do in this year, can come back to haunt you. Merlin knows it has to me."

She thought yet again, "Are you having problems with Miss Smith?" She asked him in a voice that seemed akin to a mother's concern. "Because if that is your reason for wanting to drop my class, I can switch you into a different period. I've got two classes each day, to accommodate all of the students."

Stopping mid motion of writing on the parchment, Connor licked his lips looking back to his Professor, "Professor, I would appreciate it if you would allow me to finish your exam. It..would be impolite if I were to join a class such as yours. I would hate for you to have wasted your time with a student who so bluntly dislikes being there, not to mention the harm it would cause to the students who do want your extra attention." Keeping his voice calm, he used words to tell his Professor, no he would not like to be in her classroom. Connor was so pissed off at the women, he didn't care for her topics trying to relate to him. The blonde boy wanted to finish out his detention and leave, he was going to talk to his head of house after this, he might see Animus outside of the classroom, but he wouldn't have to work with it for a long period of time.

"Miss Smith, we got into a situation that was handled." While that was true, Connor didn't want to be around the Slytherin girl either. She was intimidating in her own way, while she didn't hurt him directly, other than one hex, she seemed well liked in the Slytherin crowed. Plus with the Gryffindor boyfriend on her side, Connor had Lucien on his. That was the end of the list, with one person to stand by him, he was still out numbered and he couldn't rely on his boyfriend to get him out of every social situation.

After looking over the exam, Connor took his time finishing up his test, not wanting to get a bad grade on it. He cast a dying spell over the parchment so that the ink wouldn't spread. Handing it over to his Professor, waiting to see what his grade would have been.
