Bellatrix settled on the hard, wooden chair, her eyes on the sleeping girl in the small bed.
She replayed her conversation with Draco in her mind, the part she had deliberately kept from Donovan.
“I…want to be a vampire.”
Bellatrix swallowed hard, reigning in her temper as much as she possibly could.
“And how will you accomplish that?”
“You know there’s a vampire living with us. I asked her to change me some time back, and now she has agreed.”
Bellatrix slowly began massaging Draco’s shoulders.
“Did she say why she agreed now?”
“No, that change of mind came quite suddenly. Mother told me that Maria had received a letter from that werewolf shortly before.” He murmured, relaxing against her, eyes closed, floating on blissful pleasure.
“A werewolf?”
“Yes, that Axel or Andy or whatever his name is, working for Donovan.”
“Why would he write her a letter? Did that letter make her decide to change you?”
“I don’t know…a bit more on the right…ah, that’s it. No, he wanted her to meet him somewhere, Mother said. And after that meeting, she told me, a few days later, that she had decided to change me and that she’d give me some time to tie up loose ends.”
“Ah, okay.”
Bellatrix continued kneading his knotted muscles for a while in silence, contemplating what she’d just heard and how she’d handle the situation.
The rest had been easy. Finding out where Andrews lived, finding out about the daughter, and kidnapping the brat had gone like a dream. Bellatrix had simply waited outside the house, hidden by some trees, until the girl came out. A Confundus Charm had her following the Death Eater willingly. She had apparated them to Knockturn Alley. Another Confundus Charm had secured this room, and no one had dared question who the heavily hooded figure was and why she had a small child with her.
Now, all she had to do was wait until Andrews found her little note and showed up.
