Ceres sat at the table, trying hard to calm her nerves. She scolded herself. There was no reason to be nervous. She would meet the man her father had decided she should marry, and that was that. She knew about Acer's reputation, it was still going around school for everyone who was interested in finding out. Ceres seriously doubted that she would be the one to blow him away and tame him, so she guessed that he'd go on the way he'd been before. She only hoped he'd be discreet and not make her a laughing stock.
Ceres sighed. The notion of falling in love and marrying someone because she wanted to was nice, she supposed, but nothing that would happen in the aristo pureblood families. She only hoped she wouldn't fall like crazy for this man, it would only hurt her if she did. Her thoughts drifted to Connor. She had liked him. But she probably shouldn't have any boyfriends now that she knew she was promised to Acer.
Her eyes drifted to the door again. When she noticed, she forced herself to focus on her glass of butterbeer. She would not appear to be so eager to meet him. No way.
