James stood on the porch, not sure what he should be doing. He could have gone home awhile ago, but honestly, he knew Gabe wasn't there and he didn't want to be home alone tonight. He wanted to get out there, have a drink or two, maybe fuck around. The other part of him wanted to go on a raid, he wanted to get things kicking. After the incident with the healer, James didn't want to push his luck with Benjamin. Training after that had been a bitch, James wanted to just die during and after. He hadn't even made it home that night, and even when he did get home, he didn't want to be home.
Taking a breath, inhaling the clear air, it was nice to be at headquarters, the forest around it was calming and open. He remembered growing up, when he was elementary school or in foster care, that his friends or even the people he was staying with would go camping in places like this. How they would take their tents and sleeping bags, they would leave all excited about going. James had only gone camping once in his life, and he didn't have as much fun as the other kids with him, this was before James learned that he wasn't just the small little gay kid. Thinking back of how he used to be pushed around, he tensed, gribbing his wand tighter.
Maybe he would go visit Hunter later tonight if the man wasn't busy, he was Jame's closet thing to a parent, and James looked up to the man. Taking another breath, James leaned against the wall of the house, hoping no one would ask why he was hanging around. He didn't want to get into any trouble. James had been walking on eggshells since the mishap.
