When Alex spoke and reminded him he wasn't a maid, Casey knew it. Its just that work had been pressuring him lately but he couldn't... he wouldn't say it to Alex. He had to show he was strong and that he could take anything his Chief could throw at him. This was just a small price to pay to be able to be home and do his share of watching the kids. " I know that. I know she's not Josh, Alex. I know it." he sighed as he didn't want to say anything more knowing that he'd eventually slip he he spoke more.

"No, I'll talk to her. Just make dinner for her. I'll eat something when I'm done. I'm sure Chelsey's hungry." he said as he stopped the conversation and proceeded to leave the small home office before Alex would stop him for an explanation or something. He didn't want to be a burden and Casey was going to keep it that way.

Grabbing Casey's upper arm, he starred at his mate, "Come on, Case, don't be like this." Alex didn't want Casey to walk away upset, he thought today was a good day, at least until he comes home. Chelsey is pitching a fit with him, Casey is mad at him, all Alex needed to do now as piss off Josh. "What's the issue? I can't read your mind." Not understanding what he did wrong to upset his mate, but he understood that he wanted to fix it before he had a pile of issues and no answer at all.

Chelsey being hungry was not on his mind right now, Chelsey was having a tantrum and she would come out and say she was hungry if she was up for eating. "Don't walk away upset." The last time they decided not to talk about things, things got messy, Alex was not going to let happen anytime in the near future. He didn't let go of Casey, not wanting his mate to attempt to walk away again, but the grip wasn't hurting or forceful, it was just Alex's holding him, Casey could easily pull away if he wanted to. Alex wasn't sure how'd he react if Casey did though.

Casey was stopped by Alex before he could leave the office. He sighed as he slowly and gently pried Alex's hand off him and turned to his alpha with hurt in his eyes. "Don't you notice that I get to stay more at home? Do you not wonder why? Alex, as long as I can handle the double amount of work for the Prophet, I get to stay here and take care of you and the kids. That was the agreement. In exchange for working here at home, I have to work twice, if not, thrice more than others and I cannot afford mistakes. You pointed out that I could just have used magic. But you know that with magic, nothing is perfect still. If the work I sent just now had errors in them, I will be called and that means the Chief will make me report to the office than work from here." Casey explained softly before he looked down as he sighed once more.

"I don't show that I have to do those because I know it will bother you. I know. Josh will nag me too and insist that I don't have to work this hard. But I do have too. Its a small sacrifice in exchange for being more closer to home, closer to you, and having more time even if I have to stay up late, to play and watch the kids." Casey added as his voice was straining even more. He didn't want to have to voice out everything but Alex didn't see it. And truthfully? Casey didn't know how long he'd last if Alex kept missing the hints.

Taking his hand back after Casey removed it, Alex watched his mate with a frown. So he said the next thing like it was no problem, "Quit." Not understanding why his mate was stressing himself out when Alex makes more than enough for them to live healthily. After they got this mission over too, they would be living higher and better anyway. They'd have to be in hiding for the time being anyway, so quitting now anyway would only be skipping steps. "I'm sorry your upset, but what do you want me to do? Chelsey is just a kid, just like Josh. Where the hell did you get you couldn't talk to me?" Alex wasn't even sure if he should be pissed, hurt, feeling guilty. He always thought himself as a family man, but not it seems like every time there's an issue with his mate, something drastic has to happen in order for him to even know that something is going on.

"Why couldn't you just...come talk to me? All I meant to say was, you have this huge connection with Josh..but what do you have with Chelsey? I'm trying with Josh because he's my son. You signed for Chelsey to be your daughter, that's more than being a caretaker Case." Sighing, the older man gestured his hand to the office door. They could talk about this tonight when the kids were asleep, he didn't really understand what the hell do to though. He wasn't the mind reader Casey wanted him to be. Chelsey was his youngest, he understood that he babied her sometimes but he was trying to build something with Josh too. "I love you, I'm sorry you feel like you can't talk to me...but I never said that. Nor have I ever acted like that." Not even feeling hurt this time, he was just mad now. He was happy all damned day, then it was thrown at him that he wasn't there enough for Casey.

"Actually fuck it, Case don't worry your pretty busy head about it. I got Chelsey." Storming around his mate, he went to Chelsey's room opening the door. He spoke more calmly to his youngest when he saw her, not wanting to scare her, "Hey, Chels, get your shoes on..Get something to eat okay?"

Chelsey got up from her bed, throwing her doll on the ground, running up to her Daddy, finally she would get to do something! "Okay Daddy!" She moved to get her shoes by the door, she ran back to her Papa, knowing they were going to dinner. "Papa help tie my shoes?" She held them up to her Papa, she could tie them sometimes, but they always came undone. When her Papa or Daddy did it, they didn't untie.

"Where are we going? Josh needs to hurry up." Chelsey assumed everyone was going because her and Papa hadn't eaten yet, so it only made sense that everyone would go out to get something to eat. Josh always made fun of her for taking a long time, but she was already ready! Papa just needed to tie her shoes and she would be already to go.

When Alex told him to quit, Casey shook his head. "I can't. How will we pay for the house bills? The food? We're both saving for the kids. It would make you work more if I stop." CAsey said with a heavy heart. He didn't want to but there was no choice much. Then Casey apologized by hugging Alex. "I didn't want you to be bothered with my small troubles. You already have so much to worry about and as your mate, I didn't want to add to your brimming plate." he told Alex with so much concern and place a light kiss on his alpha's cheek.

He smiled at Alex a bit, "I've never been good around girls. My mom was the only exception. I'm a social dunce when it come to the female population. I'm working as hard as I can with Chelsey. You have to give me time. I've just not been good with dealing with everything related to girls, even the small versions. I love our daughter so I am trying to find what works for us both without having to compromise." Casey explained and hoped Alex would understand.

Then he shook his head, "You don't have to say it. I'm the one who should be sorry." was all he said before Alex said that he'd take care of Chelsey. He shook his head and then watched as Alex left the small office. Casey thought about it and knew that this could be how he and Chelsey should get their own time together. He grabbed his jacket and wallet and when he turned, his little princess was there. He smiled and knelt down to tie her shoes. "Princess, its just you and me for dinner. Daddy and Josh already ate. How about it? A date with just papa and you? Where do you want to eat? Anywhere you like, we'll go there." he told her and smiled as he finished tying her shoes and carried her with a smile.

When Casey told Chelsey that he alone was taking her, Alex wasn't sure what to say, so he didn't say anything. He was going to butt in if Casey wanted to take Chelsey out, but he was still upset about his earlier accusations. Alex made one huge ass mistake, and he tried to give Casey everything to make up for it. To show his mate how much he loved him and that yes, he was here for only Casey. Casey didn't want to burden him with any of this, then they weren't nearly as much of a team as Alex though. Because Alex had no secret from his mate, maybe that was the issue now, maybe he loaded Casey with too.

"Baby girl, you better be good for Papa, no tantrums you hear me?" Alex looked up at Casey, then he nodded, he would just have to talk to Casey when they got back. He smiled trying to relax to really just let things go, but it really did bother than him that Casey felt he could come to him, the more and more Alex was in this relationship, the less and less he was feeling like an alpha at all. Maybe he needed a full moon, maybe Casey did too, because with this going the way it was, things were not going anywhere good.

Opening his mouth to say something to Casey, he knew Casey would just understand that he was upset, without him having to say it, but he did anyway. "I'm sure you guys won't be gone too long though, Papa and me have a lot of grown up stuff to do too. Talking about the next family trip we make.." Alex said to cover up what was really needed to be talked about.

Chelsey didn't understand, Papa and Josh weren't coming? Well, that was fine with her, her and Papa didn't do anything together. Feeling special and little grown up, she grinned at her Papa after he tied her shoes for her. "Just me and you?! Papa that is so cool! Josh gets to go do stuff with just you or just Daddy all the time! Now I can too." Chelsey was a little a excited, that when she stood back up, she rolled her eyes at her Daddy, yes she knew that she had to be good.

"Yeees Daddy, I know. I'll be good. Jeesh. You don't have to tell me everyyyyy time." She pouted a little, only little kids through tantrums, and she was a big girl, she didn't have tantrums anymore! Grabbing her Papa's hand, because she knew they might be apperating. Daddy usually picked her up when they apperated, because it made her sick sometimes. Daddy would hold her into him so that she didn't have to see or really feel the apperation.

Hearing about a family trip, Chelsey looked back to her Papa, they were really going to go somewhere!? Where was it? "Okay Daddy! Papa, come on, we got to go fast. But not too fast."

Casey was glad that Alex didn't protest when Casey said that it would just be him and Chelsey going out for dinner. He was going to make up for the blunder he did with her earlier. He smiled at Alex when the man reminded Chelsey to behave and the little girl groaned. Of course she knew that she ought to behave. Then he took hold of her and was about to go out when Alex said that they had things to talk about. He mentally sighed and simply nodded. He knew that Alex always liked to have everything in control. But it just couldn't be help that Casey didn't want to burden Alex with his mundane troubles. Alex had more things to worry about that Casey and his job.

He smiled at his princess and chuckled. "Alright sweetheart. Come on. Where do you want to go and we'll go there for dinner." he told her once more.

Getting excited about picking out what they would be eating, she started to jump up and down, "Noddles Papa! Noodles!" She loved spaghetti, so she wanted that, or maybe pizza. Or maybe cake. She wanted ice cream. "And ice cream Papa!" She tugged on her Papa's arm getting worked up about being the big girl and making choices on her own, she grinned at her Daddy when her Papa let her choose what they got to do.

She didn't even care that they had to back soon. "Daddy we'll bring you and Josh some too! Then we can all eat ice cream together!" Chelsey said as if there was no other way, give a child an inch and they take a mile. Chelsey was 10 miles ahead of everyone else, already picking her flavor of ice cream that she was going to get.
