Before Casey could say anything, a knock on the door broke the moment and Jason came in. He placed Chelsey back on the floor so that Jason could hold and fuss over her. He chuckled as he smiled at Alex’s younger brother, ”Hey Jason. Have you eaten breakfast yet?” Casey asked as he had been used to the fact that the other sometimes forgot to eat.
He watched as Jason gave Chelsey her gift. IT was obvious that she would be opening it now since it wasn’t hidden in the office like the rest of the presents. Then Casey turned to the female that was with Jason and wondered where Pip was. ”Is Pip not with you?” he asked, wondering where the shy healer was. He knew it was Chelsey’s birthday right? Casey turned to the kitchen, ”Alex, come and meet Jason’s friend.” he called out.

"Hey, Case." Jason casually greeted his brother's mate. "Breakfast sounds really great," he stated, giving the other man a killer smile. "Haven't gotten around to that yet." HIs stomach rumbled at the mentioning of food.
He ran his hand through his hair, obviously uncomfortable. "Pip. Well, he...left. About eight weeks ago. I'm not sure if he's intending to show today, I haven't spoken to him since he left." Jason didn't really want to talk about Pip leaving, it had caused a jumble of emotions he'd much rather ignore. Definitely another reason not to have relationships, they complicated life. And anyway, he hadn't mentioned Pip to Emma, so he didn't want to discuss his ex in front of her.

Seeing her uncle walk into the door, Chelsey start to squirm to get away from her Papa to get over to where Jason was. Running to him and letting him pick her up, she fired away talking to him. "Daddy and Papa made chocolate chip pancakes! With strawberries! And I fell on the counter but Papa healed me. It really really bad! But it scared Josh and Daddy and they came running in! It was funny enough though Daddy was kinda mad, Papa was too." Chelsey said without pausing, but when another person came into the house, Uncle Jason said it was his friend. Emma. Chelsey didn't know what to think about this, so she just starred until the girl waved.
Giving a little wave back, Chelsey finally got excited again when the stranger gave her a present! Squriming again to get down from her Uncle, she dumped out the bag. She got make-up! Big girl make-up! "Daddy look! I got make-up! Like mommy! Can I wear it?! Emma will you put it one me?! Please? Papa said boys don't wear make-up or do their hair so they don't know how..so please? And it's my birthday so everyone says I'm the Princess today." Chelsey ran to the only other girl in the house. Maybe when her mommy showed up, she would let Chelsey try out her new make-up on her.
Ignoring the talk about Pip, she didn't really understand grown up talk anyway. "Daddy no! I wanna open that one now! Papa can please!?" Chelsey pouted when her daddy put away the gift her uncle Jason had brought. No fair.

Coming into the room, Alex raised an eyebrow with an amused smile looking over the new girl and Jason. He didn't really want to say anything about Pip's absence, not wanting that to be open for discussion right now. He ran his hand over the small of Casey's back, as a reassurance to let it go for right now. They'd more than liking talk about it another time. "Well, in a short, someone is soooo out of your league Jase." Alex looked over to Emma and winked being playful about teasing his younger brother, as soon as Chelsey was picked up, Alex watched as Emma gave the little girl a gift. Well, one present wouldn't hurt. Until he saw what was in it. Damn it. Seriously what was he gonna do with that?
Looking over to Casey half ignoring Chelsey's excitement, he didn't say anything but Casey had to be more than aware of the issues they were about to face. "I'll take Jason's present to the office, so we can do all of them later." Picking up the gift his brother brought, Alex only raised an eyebrow, trying to figure out what it was that was bought. He'll figure it out when it gets opened. "There's food in the kitchen if either of you want anything."
Dropping the gift off in the office and locking it, Alex went back to the group, "So, friends like yeah we watch Quidditch together or friends like we have sleep overs together?" Alex asked bluntly with a smirk, not even minding that Emma was only feet away from them. Turning his grin to his mate, so that he could see Casey's reaction to this, normally Casey didn't encourage it, but it was still funny to get a reaction from him.

"Hello to you, too, Alex." Jason just grinned at his brother's teasing. "Whatever you say." Setting Chelsey down so she could check out Emma's gift, Jason leaned casually against the wall, watching the girl. When she squealed about the make-up, Jason chuckled. "I guess my present won't be able to compete with that." He handed the big box to Alex, then disappeared into the kitchen, returning moments later with a plate of food and chewing on something. "This is good," he mumbled before swallowing. "I should come to breakfast more often."
"Friends like we just met a few days ago and I went to watch her play Quidditch the other day." Jason didn't miss a beat when answering his brother. It was almost like a well-practiced choreography. He took another bite of his pancake.
"Hey, Emma. do you want something to eat?" he asked when he has swallowed, pointing to his plate.

Looking at the small girl then back to Jason, she didn't know what to say to the girl, was that okay with her? Emma didn't really mind in a way, but she didn't know if that was something that she should do, this wasn't her house and she didn't know the rules in place here. "Uhm, maybe later okay?" Emma said looking to Chelsey's parents, unsure of what else to say, before she just turned to Jason with a hesitate smile.
Raising an eyebrow at Alex's forwardness, it made her whip her head back to Jason, seriously? "That's a pretty big assumption." When Jason answered back, she looked between the two, really, she didn't have this type of relationship with her brother, but it was nice to see the openness of their relationship even if she didn't really understand it. Amused now that Alex stated that she wasn't in Jason's league, "Hey now, we can't all be working for the ministry making big money. Us lesser people just have to use our brains and talents to get by." Emma teased Jason a little, giving him a compliant wrapped up in a joke.
Nodding about the food, Emma walked past Jason, running her hand over the back of his shoulder as she passed. "Talk about this Pip guy at another time?" Emma wasn't really one to but in, but she didn't want to get herself mixed up in another drama.

Letting out a low whistle, Alex just picked up his youngest to give Emma some room. "Hey Princess, why don't you go put this stuff away before you loose it huh? When everyone's gone, I'll help you with it later okay?" Alex said to ease the girl, plus really, how hard could children's make-up be? It was meant for kids, if they could figure it out, he could. Looking back to Casey, "Where's Josh? He not done yet? That kid is just as bad as you in the mirror...and his hair is an inch long." Alex was more amused then anything, Josh was so balanced, he was so much of Alex as but he was so much of Casey. Alex would get up in the morning throw on a t-shirt and jeans, while Casey spent all morning in the bathroom. Smiling, Alex remembered the talk where Josh has actually pointed it out that Casey spent a lot of time on his hair.
"Oh you went to her quidittch game? Were you the good little cheerleader for her Jasey?" Alex grinned, moving on, he was sure Josh would take a liking to this girl, as her career was on a broomstick. Josh had just taken a liking to being on one. "We're gonna be heading to the park in bit, Josh has a new broom he's been wanting to take back out and birthday girl wanted to get on some swings, so we were getting ready to head out there. If you wanna eat, we can leave when your done." Alex told them both, but not missing the little physical movement between his younger brother and Emma.
"Case, since everyone is here, wanna just take everything out there or you still wanna come back here to it?" Alex didn't have a second thought on if Lynn was coming, he really doubted it. Lynn had been more and more distant, but the more distant she was the more Chelsey asked for her mom. Casey was officially Chelsey's parent in all ways in the law and in the house, but Lynn was still going to be the kid's mom. He just hoped Chelsey and Josh had enough fun to not realize who didn't come.

Jason grinned at Emma. "I think my dear brother was implying that I'm the one not in your league...I doubt he would be that disrespectful towards anyone but me."
Turning his head to whisper to the young woman as she walked past him, he muttered:"Yeah, but there's really not much to talk about. I'll tell you waht you want to know, though." He enjoyed her hand on his shoulder far more than he would admit to himself.
"You? Help Chelsey with make-up? Do you have a secret life dressing up as a woman that I know nothing about, or how else have you become a make-up expert?" Jason teased his brother. Two could play that game, after all. And the thought that Alex would teach Chelsey how to put on make-up was a riot. Jason would seriously love to watch.
"Of course I was, watch me." Jason did an awful impromptu dance, rocking his hips, wiggling his arms, chanting: "Chudley Cannons, get that quaffle, and make me another waffle, hit that thing into the goal, try not to kill another mole, hurry up and catch that snitch, don't fall into the deep, deep ditch! Chudley Cannons, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Going into the park sounds like fun, we'll come. Okay with you, Emma?" He glanced at the young woman, wanting to be sure that she felt okay staying a bit longer. At the same time, he wondered why he was acting this way, why Emma's being comfortable was so important. He shrugged it off, not ready for any deep thoughts at the moment.

"I was more than implying, it was like.." Alex grabs Jason's face with his hand, not even thinking twice about the fact that his brother was eating, [/b]"This is not the face that gets pretty women."[/b] Alex grinned, letting go of Jason, "No, I'm kidding.." It was fine with him if Jason was going to move on, he would rather him jump around then sit inside upset because Pep left. He just hoped this girl wasn't a cover up.
Not even thinking twice about smacking his brother upside the head, "You better watch out, or I'll use you as my practice dummy beforehand." Alex half threatened, one thing that triggered anything with Alex was pride, it wasn't upset by he comment by any means, but he really wasn't scared to follow through with his threat either. Sure the older male didn't know how to put make-up on his daughter, but he was sure he could learn. He was a dad, but tons of them knew how to do this kind of thing. Right?
Starring at Jason for minute not even sure what to say, he turned to Casey bursting out laughing after his brother little cheer. "Casey have you met my sister Jacey?" His eyes turned to his daughter to see her reaction before he looked over to Emma, amused by his brother's actics.

Jason turned to Emma, a mournful look on his face. "See how he always gives me grief?" he joked, punching his brother's ribs lightly. He turned to Alex. "You're right, of course." he said, struggling to keep a straight face. "And like I said, Emma and I are friends, nothing more." Jason stubbornly ignored the tingling in his stomach, trying to convince himself that it came from eating too much.
Knowing what was coming, Jason ducked his head just as Alex aimed for him, nearly avoiding the smack. "Don't do that, you'd probably make Emma run away. That would be bad, she's really nice." Jason grinned. The thought of Emma leaving caused mild panic. No. No, that couldn't be panic. He was...just scared of Alex putting make-up on him and using an eyeshadow that didn't flatter his colours. Yes, that made more sense.
"Ooooh, you made a rhyme." Jason laughed. He didn't know what had put him into such a good mood, but he had felt great ever since picking up Emma this morning. Probably because the weather was so gorgeous and because it was Chelsey's birthday.
